Straps for the Garmin Forerunner 970

Garmin’s premium running watch, the Forerunner 970, was released in 2025. The watch comes standard with a silicone strap in three colours. If you want more variety or are looking for a colour not offered by Garmin, you’ll find a wide selection of Garmin Forerunner 970 straps on this page, ranging from sports straps to premium steel and titanium straps.

Which strap fits the Forerunner 970?

The Garmin Forerunner 970 has a specific strap size that doesn’t match standard sizes. At Smartwatch-straps.co.uk, we’ve found the perfect fit, so you can be confident your new strap will fit your Garmin Forerunner 970 perfectly. Replacing your strap is very simple and requires no tools. You can easily switch from a silicone strap for sports to a steel strap for work.

Advantages and disadvantages of different materials

Straps for this new model are available in a variety of materials, each with its own pros and cons. Below, you’ll find more information on each material so you can choose the best strap for your Forerunner 970.

Silicone Forerunner 970 straps

Silicone straps are commonly supplied as standard with smartwatches. These straps are comfortable and ideal for sports. They are durable, lightweight, and overall a great all-round choice for everyday use. For extra ventilation, some silicone straps come with perforations.

Nylon Forerunner 970 straps

Nylon straps for the Garmin 970 are softer and more flexible, making them generally the most comfortable to wear. They are also suitable for people with sensitive skin. While you can use a nylon strap for sports, silicone straps are usually better suited for this purpose.

Leather and metal watch straps

Although the Forerunner 970 is primarily a running watch, you’ll probably wear it all day, including to work. To better match a professional outfit, you can choose a leather or metal watch strap for your latest smartwatch. This gives your watch a classic look that complements your attire.
